Top 50 Investment Banks by Mid-Market M&A Q1 2010

This ranking lists the top 50 Firms with Undisclosed Values & Values up to US$500m in the first quarter of 2010 ending March 31, 2010.


Worldwide announced Mid-Market M&A deals valued up to $500 million totaled US$141.7 billion in the first quarter of 2010 – a 45.3% increase over first-quarter 2009.

Estimated global fees generated from Mid-Market M&A activity reached US$3.4 billion for the quarter, according to Thomson Reuters/Freeman Consulting.

The Americas region (by target domicile) led the market, with US$52.4 billion of announced deal activity
– a 37.0% market share, representing a gain of 3.4 percentage points.

The EMEA region (by target domicile) led the market in number of deals announced, with over 3,100
deals in the first quarter, or 33.8% of the over 9,000 deals announced worldwide.

The Financials sector comprised 15.2% of announced value, followed by Real Estate, Materials, and
Energy & Power, which each represented approximately 14% of the total market.
