36 years of mostly rewarding work but left off the fast track early in my career

"I would say that on balance, my experience at BBH was positive. However, it seemed to me that management pigeon-holes employees early in their careers. Those deemed not to be senior management material may be set aside in terms of promotability, opportunity for management training etc. while not really being given any opportunity to show their worth by dint of performance. I would say that few "middle class Americans" make it to the top but, for that demographic, if they work hard and in particular, work smart, they can have very rewarding careers at a firm that still fosters long term employer/employee relationships and job security. However, coming to BBH, candidates must carefully manage their expectations."
