"My experience working with this organization was not the best. The environment was very distressing, mainly because of a lack of communication amongst the staff. Simple things like dress code and lunch breaks were all left up in the air, so we had to assume how to do the simplest of things. Generally, I followed the rule of dressing like my superior does, which meant a suit was worn daily- only to find out that this wasn't necessary by a co-worker that worked out of the Connecticut office.During this time, the financial markets were taking a tumble, so everyone was on edge. As such, this caused a lot of back biting and mistrust amongst co workers trying to acquire new clients, and it made the need for supporting them in a diplomatic way that much more difficult at times. The manager of Technology was never onsite, so it was hard to establish a cordial relationship with him. This was not good because he was the person whom I directly reported to. While this isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, it made the conversations we did have awkward and rigid. I really do believe that he was a great guy, but he really didn't have a pulse on what his people needed to work for him. This is coupled with the fact that there was no defined process nor vision for SLA's, medium/large implementation timelines, or change management. These are all principles that I was used to at my previous place of employment. Because of this lack of organization, issue resolution and project management was more objective than subjective.My advice for anyone seeking to work at NASDAQ is to understand that the culture is much older and beaurocratic than most companies. The pay is great, but that pay does not come without cost. As for those leading the charge, I would like to suggest that you focus on getting to know your people and communicate when things are going well as well as when things are not going as planned. A worker is definitely more apt to enjoy his environment when he/she knows where they stand in the organization and when they feel their work is valued."
