SunTrust’s investment banking arm, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, launched in 1894 as the Robinson-Humphrey Company.  In 2001, impressed with its investment banking record, SunTrust acquired the firm.  And in 2007, SunTrust integrated its corporate banking, investment banking and capital markets units, packaging them as SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.  Today, the unit offers capital raising, strategic advisory, risk management, investments, and treasury and payments services.
