Citigroup Announces Appointments of Mark Shafir, Ketan Mehta, Stephen Trauber, Andrew Safran, Peter Tague, Nick McKee, and Joe S
Comment
Citigroup has reorganized its energy, power and chemicals, and technology, media and telecom (TMT) investment banking groups. The bank has separated its energy and power investment banking groups and added the chemicals unit to its global industrials team.

The company also announced that it has entrusted its global merger and acquisition head Mark Shafir with the additional responsibility of co-leader at its global TMT unit. At the same time, Ketan Mehta will oversee mergers and acquisitions at the TMT group. The company also announced that Stephen Trauber, a former banker at Swiss peer UBS, would head its energy investment banking group and share the responsibility with Andrew Safran, who was previously in charge of the larger energy, power and chemicals team together with Peter Tague. At the same time, the new, stand-alone global power investment banking division will be co-managed by Nick McKee and Joe Sauvage. -M2 EquityBites
